Chef Sally heads to the Cotswolds

Chef Sally Abé is joining The Bull in Charlbury, the Cotswolds pub from the dynamic Public House group, operators of The Hero in Maida Vale and The Pelican, Canteen and The Fat Badger in Notting Hill.

Sally left the Pem last month, having established her reputation as head chef at Brett Graham’s Fulham pub the Harwood Arms. She published a memoir last year, and has further raised her profile as a voice for women in professional kitchens.

She said of her new role: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining The Bull in Charlbury. It feels like a homecoming for me – returning to my roots and getting to cook proper British pub grub once again.

“I can’t wait to work with all the amazing produce from the farm. I’m so excited to get back to these incredible British ingredients and just get cracking.”

In addition to running the kitchen, Sally’s remit will include developing The Bull’s ‘farm-to-fork’ ethos, working closely with nearby Bruern Farms.

Welcoming Sally on board, Public House co-founder James Gummer said: “She is one of the country’s most talented chefs, and her love for British produce and great pub food perfectly aligns with ours. We can’t wait to see her creativity in action.”
