Adolfo de Cecco, chef-patron of Hackney superstar Casa Fofò, is to open a neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar in Stoke Newington next week called Bianca’s.
Named after his daughter, Bianca’s is expected to follow a similar approach to its big sister, focusing on seasonal British ingredients from small-scale producers, but at a lower price-point. It has a dedicated charcuterie room, based on the approach of traditional Italian osterias, and a list of 100 artisanal and low-intervention wines
A former head chef at Pidgin, Adolfo launched Casa Fofò six years ago, and has won widespread acclaim for his ever-changing tasting menus. This year’s Harden’s guide describes it as ‘one of East London’s true culinary heavyweights’, offering ‘stunning flavours and textures’.
Introducing the new venue in a social media post, Adolfo said: “Bianca’s is the project we’ve been wanting to bring to life since the early days of Casa Fofò.”
Early menu teasers include: Pork agnolotti with smoked mackerel broth; Sheep’s sausage with mash and crab curry; Asparagus with cashew nut and salted bergamot; and Salted milk ice cream with rhubarb and seaweed.
Bianca’s launches next Thursday, 24 April, with all-day opening including fresh pastries and coffee to follow.
