Liberty is the latest landmark West End department store to unveil an ambitious restaurant, with the launch next week of Seventy Five as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the store’s 1875 opening.
The second-floor venue will be run in partnership with Marlow-based catering company Goose + Berry, making their restaurant debut, and will offer seasonal modern British cuisine including home-produced Buckinghamshire honey and herbs.
Running the kitchen will be chef Joe Holness, who has worked at highly rated establishments including Da Terra and Simon Rogan’s Fera at Claridges, while head pastry chef Lizzie Ross has put together an Arts & Crafts-inspired afternoon tea.
Fittingly in what is traditionally a design-led store, the interiors include 19th-century artwork, Chinoiserie motifs and Persian garden illustrations. There will also be an artists’ residency series, kicking off with work by illustrator Sir Quentin Blake.
Seventy Five opens next Tuesday, 8 April.
